National Anthem
The land of Playland
Lyrics by Playlanders Carolina Sousa, Scotti Joao Pinto Ribeira,
Tobias Pereira, Carolina Silva, Smartie Albuquerque.
Music by Men at Work
See how the Anthem was written...
Travelling in a canoe
On a river, bags full of clothes
I met a strange lady,
she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast

And she said,
"Do you come from the land of Playland?
Where women go and men come?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Buying monkeys from a man in the forest
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a hat

And he said,
"I come from the land of Playland,
Where women go and men come
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Lying in a hospital in a bed
With a dog, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to sleep
Because I come from the land of Playland?"

And he said,
"Oh! Do you come from the land of Playland? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women go and men come?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."
